In a Spiritual Desert? Holy Spirit’s Water Can Quench Your Thirst

How to Drink When You're in the Desert Place | Rush Podcast-44.png

When you’re in a spiritual desert, life seems dry, monotonous, and discouraging.

In a desert, water is scarce; the environment is harsh and unforgiving; it’s intense in both its heat and its cold. There is little shade, little food, little protection. In a desert we’re exposed, vulnerable, desperate even. And abandoned maybe. Because few people choose to enter a desert.

But sometimes we can’t avoid it.

Today, our deserts are struggles with finances. Troubles at work. Unemployment. Relationship problems and heartache. Isolation and loneliness. Disease or difficulties with our health.

Do you ever feel discouraged? Isolated? Do you have a hard time knowing where to turn? Do you wish things would change, but have little or no faith that they actually will?

Holy Spirit tells us that there is bountiful stream flowing beneath our feet. He tells us He has everything we need--and that He’s not holding back.

He says, “My resources never get depleted. My willingness to love and help and teach and guide is never exhausted . . . I stay with you. I’ll stay right here, in this desert place, with you--but I am going to show you how to access that stream of living water. Just watch, it’s going to burst forth from the hard ground, overflowing the parched land, giving you so much hope.

Holy Spirit has a stream of living water just for you. Will you drink it?
